Join us at St. Stephen Presbyterian Church on April 27th at 7PM for a very special recital by organ virtuoso Greg Zelek, Principal Organist of the Madison Symphony Orchestra and Curator of the Overture Concert Organ and Series. Praised for his “effortless facility on the instrument” (South Florida Classical Review), Zelek — just 26 years old — is increasingly recognized as one of the most exciting young organists on the American organ scene. Greg, who is currently pursuing an Artist Diploma at The Juilliard School, was most recently the Audience Prize winner and a finalist in the 2016 Longwood Gardens International Organ Competition. You are invited to the dedication recital for the newly installed organ at St. Timothy Anglican Church in Fort Worth. This is the Allen organ that was in the beloved late Fort Worth AGO Chapter member's home, Will Hayes. Featuring music of John Bull, Claude Balbastre, Johann Sebastian Bach, William Mathias, C. Hubert Parry, and one of William Hayes' own compositions based on Hymn to Joy. Soprano Cassandra Kirby will sing an aria from Bach's St. Matthew Passion. A "secret hymn" will be selected and sung by the congregation as part of the blessing of the organ.

Guest Organist, John Tarver, will also present a recital featuring many of the beautiful colors of the instrument. John formerly served as organist at First Baptist Arlington from 1978-1985. He is so excited to participate in this dedication of “the organ I always hoped FBCA would have.” It will be a wonderful evening of dedication and worship as we bring Glory to God’s Name through an evening of beautiful music and artistry. The development of the North German chorale prelude will be traced from the 16th to the 21st century as we sing the corresponding hymns by Martin Luther.
