Nathan Laube (pictured, left) played an outstanding concert on January 27th in Ed Landreth Auditorium at TCU. The concert was well attended, and he dazzled the audience with his flawless technique. Dr. Joe Butler (pictured, right) invited him to perform for our community Be sure to hear Nathan in the 2017 Dallas Regional Convention at the Meyerson!

 

On February 25th members of the Fort Worth and Dallas chapters met at St. Vincent Cathedral in Bedford for a workshop and presentation on online publishers and music distributors. We all learned about little known resources that provide excellent music for the organ that is fresh and inspiring. Pictured above, Bradley Reznicek, organist at St Rita Catholic Community in Dallas, demonstrates his portion of the workshop.

 

-Chapter member and dean Dr. H. Joseph Butler performed the Saint-Saens Symphony No. 3 "Organ" with the Fort Worth Symphony orchestra the weekend of February 24-26.

-Chapter member Tim Shewmaker presented his 2nd DMA recital at TCU on February 11th. He played difficult literate from French composers, including new works and music from the Romantic era. Congrtulations Tim!

-Chapter member Isaac Foreman won first prize and the hymn-playing award in the Undergraduate Division of the 46th Annual William C. Hall Pipe Organ Competition.   The competition is held annually at the First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio and is open to all organ students at Texas Universities.  Isaac is a Freshman at TCU studying with H. Joseph Butler.   --March 4, 2017.
